Log home caulking can be used on the exterior of your logs or between them as they are being stacked. Log caulking materials are designed to expand and contract as your logs gain and lose moisture. Log home caulking can be applied on the interior, exterior or both sides of your home. Typically, it is applied in widths that range from 1/4'' up to 3/4''. Caulking can be used in place of chinking on those homes where backer rod cannot be installed. These homes usually have shallow log profile or are designed specifically as chinkless style homes.
